When vms are not generating logs inside of vmware.log follow this KB:
http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=2012441
Basically, vmware says that you should either , stop / start vm or , suspend / resume , and logs should continue write. Will test this in few days.
